Below are several topics aimed at assisting the user in searching for and consulting documents in Digitarq.
In Digitarq, information retrieval can occur through two types of searches: the simple, and the advanced.
To perform a simple search, simply enter the desired term or terms in the respective search box. The search will occur in all the fields filled in the description records of documents, actors, places, and related events.
Also in simple search, you can use additional filters such as start and end dates, in order to restrict the search to the desired time period.
Through the advanced search it is possible to retrieve document aggregations or documents, as well as related actors, events, and places. Thus, before starting an advanced search, it is necessary to indicate which universe to search, by selecting the desired tab: documents, actors, events, or places.

In this section, it is possible to retrieve actors related to the documents: they may be the respective producers, collectors, authors, intellectual or material holders, or have any other type of relationship with them. They can also be mentioned in the documents themselves.

The list of results retrieved following a search appears, by default, ordered by relevance, but if desired, it is possible to choose ordering by reference code or by title, in the case of documents, or by name, in the case of actors, events, or places.
As long as the user is registered, it is always possible to export the list of search results. Only the first 500 results will be exported to an "excel" (.xlsx) file, which will be sent to the email used for the user's registration.
It is also possible for registered users to export retrieved records to "my list". This list can be organized in the way that is most convenient for the user.
For each result retrieved in the search, it is possible to view details. For each record, several tabs will be available: the description (of the document aggregation or the document, for example, if the retrieved result refers to documents), and the tabs where the records of the actors, of the events and of the places related.
If the retrieved document records have associated digital representations, simply click on the image thumbnail in the document details to view it.
When viewing the images, the user will always be informed of the license under which they can be used. The corresponding title and the image file name will also be displayed.
