"...is a lawyer and business executive. When appointed by President Eisenhower, he was general manager of the William Thomas Waggoner Estates in Texas, one of the largest cattle ranches in the United States. There are also numerous producing oil wells on the estate. In addition, he was a director of the Vernon Times Publishing Company, the Vernon Transit Company, and the General Mid-Continental Oil and Gas Association.

Mr. Anderson was born June 4, 1910, on a farm near Burleson, Texas. He worked his way through college, receiving a bachelor of laws degree from the University of Texas in 1932. Elected to the State Legislature in 1932, he later became Assistant Attorney General and State Tax Commissionar. He is married and has two sons"
